Best Day Ever

Brand Positioning, Brand Story, Brand Personality, Web Copy

Agency Partner

Best Day Ever Management comprises Great Canadian Heli-skiing (one of the country’s foremost heli-skiing and alpine adventure operations) and Heather Mountain Lodge (a hotel and cabins that serve as a basecamp for Best Day Ever adventurers). They came to Wallop for help with their brand strategy—including assistance with telling the story of their brand family’s winter and off-season offerings in a cohesive and compelling way. I defined their brand positioning and brand personality, crafted their brand story and ultimately wrote the copy for Great Canadian Heli-skiing’s beautiful website, designed and developed by my good friends at Wallop.

Brand Story

There are good days and great days, and then there are best days. Those are our specialty. We are Best Day Ever Management, made up of an alpine adventure company and mountain lodge located in British Columbia’s gorgeous Glacier National Park.

What makes for a #BestDayEver?

In the mountains, in winter (which is how we got our start), it’s all about thinking small. Big mountainous landscapes? Of course. Big adventures? Absolutely. But big groups? Not here. Great Canadian Heli Skiing was built on a small group promise—just four skiers and a guide. Since the beginning, we’ve sought to recapture the sense of adventure that’s been lost as operations have raced to get bigger. Our goal has never been to be the biggest. It's to be the best. And to be the best, we had to stay small.

Why do small groups make for the biggest experiences? Lots of reasons. They maximize safety, and are more personal. They make it easier to match guest expectations and skill levels, so you don’t end up feeling rushed by more advanced skiers, or held back by those who like to take it a little slower. It means less waiting and more skiing. We were the first heli-skiing operation to offer unlimited vertical, and the best way to take full advantage is to be smaller, quicker and more nimble. Quite simply, our small groups mean more time doing what you love, with the people who matter most.

We’re also the only operator to offer hyper-personalized, flexible packages—so you can do two days, or four days, or seven, or eleven. We don’t require your adventures to fit neatly into one-week increments—what matters to us is that you get to have them.

And when the snow melts, the adventure continues. What does a #BestDayEver look like in summer? Again, it’s having these incredible mountains all to yourself. It’s feeling like there’s no one else for miles (because there isn’t). It’s million-dollar views, just for you and your people. You can explore on your own, or allow a member of our team to guide you.

Winter, spring, summer or fall, every #BestDayEver adventure begins and ends at basecamp: Heather Mountain Lodge—our laid-back, boutique mountain lodge in the middle of nowhere (or close to it, anyway). Halfway between Golden and Revelstoke, resting on the very edge of the vast peaks of Glacier National Park, where all doors open to uninterrupted awesome. We like to think Heather Mountain Lodge is the best of both worlds: a homey hideaway located within the rawness of the Kootenay Rockies, but with personal little touches of local luxury. And then there’s our warmly intuitive service. By the time you arrive at our lodge, you may feel like you already know us, because from first contact, through your stay and beyond, our entire team is here to make sure you feel comfortable, safe and right at home. By the end of your stay, we hope you consider yourself part of our community (because you are).

It feels homey here because this is our home. It feels like family, because it is. We are a family operation  with a passion for sharing our mountain life with you. We feel so fortunate to spend our days exactly where we are, doing what we do, and getting to celebrate your best days ever with you.
